IN MEMORY OF PHILLIP HUGHES

When not playing cricket his love was to be with his family on the farm and with the cattle.

                     AN OLD COW HAND

Here on the night wind I hear the drift of his song

He sings to his cattle at night under his stars.

Of roundups and outfits so big it's hard to believe

And I know they listen in, peacefully.

For I have seen magic when riding out on my own

I never have felt I rode alone

For here in the silence an old "cowhand" rides through

And thank God, he loves the land too.

Here in the night I think I can almost explain

The mystery of what I've seen, of what was so strange

I can't deny what my eyes find hard to believe,

And I know he listens in, peacefully.
